Mindful Minutes

Getting your breakfast after lunchtime, always being late when meeting friends, nights turned into days – time gets a different dimension when you become a mum. Take a minute to ground yourself and avoid feeling overwhelmed:

1/ Focus on an aspect of your breathing: air flowing into your nostrils and out of your mouth, or your belly rising and falling as you inhale and exhale.

2/ Begin to widen your focus. Use your senses to notice what’s happening around you. Observe and embrace each thought or sensation without judging it.

If your mind starts to drift, return your focus to your breathing. Then expand your awareness again.

Spending time with your baby will soon become the most mindful exercise you’ve ever done. Watch her grow and develop, play together and save these memories in your head - forever - by being in the now.
